On Wednesday, September 14, the seventh-grade students at Ohdela enjoyed a field trip to the Columbus Zoo in Ohio. Ms. Marchand is a seventh-grade teacher for English language arts, went on the field trip to support and see her class.
Ms. Marchand was joined by students and members of the Dela Discovery club, Gabriel Wenner and Chloe Start:
Ms. Marchand said she enjoyed the trip, and she said she loved it and would like to go again. She said she did see some of her own students (including Audrey, Righteous, and Lavanna) and even got a few pictures.
She stated that students were treated to views of a lot of animals, including a lion, a giraffe, a red panda, and more! After that, we asked what her favorite and minimal favorite animals were. Ms. Marchand said her favorite animal was the red panda, but her least favorite was the snakes and bats.
Ms. Marchand said she really enjoyed her experience at the Zoo with perhaps one exception. Ms. Marchand stated, “I had fun, but I wish I could’ve met more of my students.”
Overall, Ms. Marchand enjoyed the field trip to the Columbus Zoo and can’t wait for the next one. She informed us by saying she had to drive two hours to the Zoo and two hours back. She told us it was worth the drive to three of her students. She also said she wished we could've been at the Zoo too, but then she told us she knows everyone can’t come because of tough situations. Lastly, Ms. Marchand told us she loves being our teacher and loves teaching English language arts.
