Once there was a girl named Emily Elizabeth and she is kind of shy and kept to herself because at her new school the girls there are mean and sometimes made fun of her. Emily’s mom has to go on a business trip and she asks her brother Casey, who is Emily's uncle, to watch Emily while she is gone. At first, Emily isn’t very comfortable with this because her Uncle Casey isn’t that responsible. Later on, after Emily's Uncle Casey takes her to the school outside there is an animal rescue center that is really a magical animal pet shop! The magical pet shop is called “Birdwell Animal Rescue”. So when Emily and Casey went inside the shop they found some weird animals but that is where they met Birdwell thought they were looking for a pet but they just wanted to see the animals then Birdwell showed Emily Clifford but of course, his name wasn’t Clifford just yet because they haven’t named him. Emily and Casey were surprised at how red the dog was and Emily wanted to keep the little red dog but Casey said they couldn’t then she asked Birdwell how big would he get, and Birdwell replied it depends and Emily said it depends on what and Birdwell said on how much love you give him. Casey still said that they couldn’t keep the cute little red puppy so they had to leave but Emily did not enjoy school because of the mean girls and Emily actually made a new friend whose name was Owen and he was cheering Emily up! Emily went home and was upset because of the mean girls but then she saw the cute little red dog that would soon be named Clifford come out of her backpack!
