Late Tuesday (5/24), a gunman killed 19 students and two teachers at Robb Elementary school in Uvalde, Texas. 

 

The gunman was 18 years old and forced his way into the school after overtaking a school officer but not before shooting his own grandmother. A U.S. Border Protection agent showed up at the school and took care of the shooter but not before he took the lives of those children and teachers. 

 

This shooting is the deadliest school shooting in Texas history, and the third deadliest school shooting in modern U.S. history. 

 

Several families in Uvalde gathered in a prayer circle that Tuesday night just down the street where many were still waiting for the news of their children. 

 

This tragedy brought the state of Texas closer but left a gaping hole in the hearts of many as they mourned their loved ones.
