Spider-Man V.S Spider-Man

By Joshua McClain

There have been several animated and live-action Spider-man adaptations over the years.  From 1960 to 2022, Spider-Man has had several films and comics so, today I will tally up the three best and three worst spiderman franchises and find the best one out of them.  Just a heads up these are all in opinion and how I am rating them.

3. Best: The Raimi Trilogy

If you are an OG Spidey fan you probably have seen the Raimi Trilogy. This was one of the first well-received Spider-man films that got two other follow-up films and spin-off tv shows. (Spider-man new animated series TV-PG: mild blood and language)The Raimi Trilogy was the only Spider-man franchise that wasn't canceled by contracts or poor ratings but because Raimi couldn't think of the right plot for Spider-Man 4.  I will give it a B+ 89%.  All of the Raimi trilogies are rated PG-13 (mild blood intense action sequences and very mild language).

3. Worst: Ultimate Spider-Man

In this show, Spider-Man usually would break the fourth wall as a joke but, after season two he started to do it only sometimes. (Breaking the fourth wall means talking to the screen.)  In this show, every bad guy turns into a good guy. Rhino, Vulture, Sandman, even Doc Ock.  Each and every time it feels like S.H.I.E.L.D is the center of attention in almost every episode.  Though some episodes I actually really enjoyed, like Spider-Verse or the Attack of the Spider-Slayers.  Usually, the episodes are just B.O.R.I.N.G!!!  Also, another thing I hate about this show is that they made Luke Cage, Nova (Sam Alexander), Iron Fist, and White Tiger (Ava Ayalla) four characters that have ALMOST NOTHING TO DO WITH SPIDER-MAN AS HIS “SIDEKICKS”!! I rate this show a C- (71%).

2. Best: Spectacular Spider-Man

Even though it is considered to be the best adaptation of Spider-Man of all time, there is one Spider-Man film I thought was better.  The show was inspired by the old Spiderman comics The Amazing Spider-Man was a hit.  It had a great story, character development, voice acting, and ratings.  But, all good things must come to an end.  In 2009 Disney purchased Spider-Man’s tv show rights and canceled it.  Replacing it with Ultimate Spider-Man 3, years later, (another show that was airing that had our old web-slinging friend) At an unknown date Avengers: Earth Mightiest Heroes was canceled for the same reason overall I will give this show a 99% (A)

2 Worst: Spider-Man Unlimited

When our hero Spider-man (while fighting Carnage and Venom) is trying to save John Jameson and fails to.  He travels to an alternate dimension where John is trapped in.  Which is ruled by the high evolutionary, a crazy dude who REALLY likes evolving animals.  This show is dumb for all of these reasons. Through every single episode I waited for Spidey to save John and go back to earth but it ended at a cliffhanger because it was so STUPID!!! 20% (f-)

1. Best: Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse

Miles Morales has his first-ever time on the big screen in the Academy award-winning Spider-Man Into the SpiderVerse.  The film focuses on a different Spider Hero who has to stop Bad guys, team up with other spider-men, and learn how to master his powers.  This film was really good. It had action, comedy, and more. Seeing the wide variety of spider-men (and women) to choose from and all of the money that was made, I knew that there had to be a sequel. There is!!! Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse (Part one) is supposed to release on October 7th, 2022. I would give this movie an A+ (100%!!!)

Rated: PG

Last and so definitely least 1. Worst: Marvel Superhero Adventures

I know what you're thinking.  “Josh this is a children's show, of course, it isn't that good for people of your age!”  Have you ever heard of Paw Patrol, one of the most aired Nick Jr shows of all time?  When they have a major problem (usually) it’s life-threatening like dangling off of a bridge or being stuck on the edge of a cliff.  While the minor problems are robberies or treasure hunting.  My point is even though it is a kid's show it still shows actual problems.  While in Marvel Super Heroes Adventures some people think it's a problem if Venom throws some ice cream everywhere or if a giant wave hits a BEACH or if a swarm steals some bees so he can have a lot of honey. I know it is a kid's show and I should definitely not be as hard on it as I am, but who calls a show Marvel Superhero Adventures when it's pretty much just about Spider-Man with like 1 or 2 other people.

If they wanted to do that then call it Spider-Man and Friends. I rate this show: 15% (f—----------)

The show is rated Tv-Y
