Preparing for the Ohio State Test

by Assata Hill,  Student Reporter

Still being youthful in school, we have to take the state test. But this is the Ohio state test (OST). In this paper today, I will show you how to get prepared for the OST and some resources to help you. Likewise, how to get to it.

What is the OST?

The OST is a test that we 3rd-12th graders take to help us for the next grade. This test will cover things you learned that school year. Sometimes, they put things you will know next year on the test. You never know. This test does not determine if you pass the grade or fail. It is just to see who is advanced.

How to get prepared for the OST

To get ready you should study. In Ohio, there is a site that helps grades 3rd through 12th. This is the site. If you don't know how to get in, ask your teacher. This is a reason you have to pay close attention in class during the

year. Review over notes. The night before testing you should get lots of rest & relax. Don't be nervous. Take your time on these tests. They do give you a certain amount of time but don't rush. On the day of the OST, drink lots of water. In Ohio, you have to bring a drink and food. That will not be provided! Also, take paper & pencil.

When & where is the OST?

In OHDELA, the 3rd-12th state testing starts March 25th

to April 14th. At the beginning of March, you will get a form from your teacher asking what time would be good for you.  They determine what place you go by seeing your closest location. This will come in an email.

If you need any more information contact your teacher.

Hope everyone does well on their test!
